About our Program

Crime Stoppers Overview

Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization based on the principle that someone other than the criminal always has information that can solve a crime. It operates independently of law enforcement agencies and is managed by a Board of Directors composed of community members. The Board sets policies, assists with public awareness initiatives, and raises funds to pay rewards and cover operational costs.

History and Mission

Established in 1987, Sudbury Regional Crime Stoppers and Rainbow Country Crime Stoppers were founded to provide a proactive way for the community to assist police in fighting crime. In 1993, these programs were merged to form Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers, enhancing their effectiveness.
