Crime Stoppers and the Greater Sudbury Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in regards to an allegation of mischief or hate crimes.
In the early hours of April 9th the letter Z, a symbol of victory to Russian military, was spray painted on a sign in front of the Ukrainian church on Notre Dame Avenue. On the 19th of April at about 10 pm, a glass panel of the door at the Ukrainian National Federation of Sudbury on Frood Rd was smashed, leaving a hole in the center. On the 26th of April, some derogatory graffiti was located on a trail that joins School Street and runs parallel to Cobalt St, in the Copper Cliff Area. All of these are being considered as hate motivated offenses and are serious in nature. Any information to the identity of the suspect(s) would be appreciated.

Around 11:00 a.m. on January 24th, A citizen got into their vehicle at the gas station near Main St. E. and Regional Rd 15 in Chelmsford and started driving. A male party, who was hiding in the vehicle, sat up, brandishing a knife and advised the victim to drive to a secluded area on Montpellier Rd. The suspect then took an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim and was picked up by a white newer model Honda Civic.
The suspect is described as darker skinned, wearing a dark grey mask, green toque and black hood. He spoke with a heavy French accent and is about 5’11’ to 6’ tall with a slim build.

Sometime in the last week, unknown culprit(s) attended at Veteran’s Monument located on Horobin Street at the Parklawn cemetary. Staff discovered that someone had broken the bolts and removed a ceremonial sword from the monument. This sword is bronze and stands about 3 feet tall and is approximately 6 inches wide. This sword was from World War 2.
The estimated value of the stolen property is $2 000.
