Crime Stoppers and the Greater Sudbury Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in regards to an allegation of an incident involving a weapon.
Just before midnight on the 14th of May, police were sent to a location on Durham Street in regard to a male party being stabbed. The victim was transported to Health Sciences North with serious but non life threatening injuries. This incident is believed to have been targeted.
Detective Constable Scaglione would appreciate any information that we can gather in regard to the culprit in this incident.
Crime Stoppers and the Ontario Provincial Police are seeking the public’s assistance in regard to a suspicious fire.
Members of the Noelville detachment responded to a seasonal cottage fire that took place in the early morning hours of April 28th on Turenne Road in the Municipality of French River. The Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office attended and investigated. The cause of the fire was determined to be of a suspicious nature.
The cottage was not occupied at the time and there were no injuries. Damage has been estimated to be approx. $150,000. Any information leading to the suspect in this incident would be appreciated.
Crime Stoppers and the Ontario Provincial Police are seeking the public’s assistance in solving harassment Complaints.
On March 2nd, members of the Manitoulin detachment received a complaint of letters with concerning content that were placed in the mail box of homes in Burpee / Mills Township.
On March 12th, they again responded to a complaint of similar letters being found posted on the Assiginack Post Office bulletin board.
The message conveyed intimidating content towards new landowners and a religious community on Manitoulin Island.
Further information in regard to the person responsible would be appreciated.
Crime Stoppers and the Greater Sudbury Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in regards to an allegation of break, enter and theft.
On the 18th of April, just after midnight, unknown suspects entered a home on Aspen Ct in Capreol. One of the residents of the home was present and with dogs on the upper floor of the home. The culprits did ransack the kitchen, dining and living room, all of which are on the main floor of the residence. The property taken includes electronics and jewelry.
The estimated value of the stolen property is undetermined at this time.
Crime Stoppers and the Greater Sudbury Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in regards to an allegation of theft.
Sometime in the last week, unknown culprit(s) attended at Veteran’s Monument located on Horobin Street at the Parklawn cemetary. Staff discovered that someone had broken the bolts and removed a ceremonial sword from the monument. This sword is bronze and stands about 3 feet tall and is approximately 6 inches wide. This sword was from World War 2.
The estimated value of the stolen property is $2 000.
Crime Stoppers and the Greater Sudbury Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in regards to allegations of mischiefs and thefts.
In the last few months, the Greater Sudbury Police Service has seen an increase in thefts from coin laundry facilities throughout the city. These thefts cause significant damage to the property and do have an impact on tenants while waiting for repairs.
Landlords are reminded to empty out their laundry machines daily, to have some security surveillance in place and if possible to consider changing to a smartcard laundry system.
Crime Stoppers and the Greater Sudbury Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in regards to an allegation of theft.
It was discovered in the morning hours of Wednesday January 20th that culprit(s) attended in the area of Morgan Road, north of the Vermillion River and cut down a large tree on a private property. On the 30th of January between noon and 5 pm, culprits attended the area and cut another large tree. On both occasions, the theft of the tree was obvious from the wood shavings and saw dust, extending onto the roadway.
It is illegal to access private property and cut down a tree. Any information on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Crime Stoppers and the Greater Sudbury Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in regards to a break, enter and theft.
It is alleged that shortly after midnight on the 18th of December, a lone male suspect entered a garage, searched vehicles and stole some power tools in the area of Kirkwood Drive. The male was observed by numerous security cameras and witnesses entering or attempting to enter vehicles and other garages in that same area. The suspect is described as Caucasian, with a slim to average build, was dressed in a toque with a blue hoodie, construction type coat, jeans and boots.
Any information leading to the identity of this culprit would be greatly appreciated.The Nipissing West Sudbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police and Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s assistance in regards to a sudden death.
On December 8th, 2020 police were called to a suspicious death of a female who was located near Tilton Lake Road in Eden Township. A post mortem examination by the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service have identified the 40 year old woman as Amanda OAKE of Sudbury.
The investigation is continuing under the direction of the Ontario Provincial Police Criminal Investigation Branch.
Crime Stoppers and the Greater Sudbury Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in regards to a theft of a piece of heavy equipment.
It is alleged that between the 25th and 29th of September, unknown culprits attended a quarry located on Long Lake road and took a Caterpillar 420F backhoe from the property. The culprits disabled the GPS from the piece of equipment. The value of this backhoe is $ 95 000.

The Nipissing West Sudbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police and Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s assistance in regards to a sudden death.
It is alleged that on October 25, 2020 police were called to a suspicious death of a male who was located on a trail, in Point Grondine Reserve, off of Hwy 637 in Killarney. The cause of death was later confirmed to be an injury from a firearm.
A joint forces investigation is continuing by Wikwemikong Tribal Police, Ontario Provincial Police Criminal Investigation Branch and the Ministry of Natural Resources.
The Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police and Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s assistance in relation to a boat and trailer theft.
It is alleged that on September 1st , 2020 the Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to a theft of boat and trailer located on Highway 540 in the Town of Evansville. Suspect(s) transferred the trailer with the boat to another vehicle and fled the area.
The boat is described as a 2008 Bayliner 20.5 feet with a black stripe down the entire side bearing Ontario Boating Licence number ON1231134. The trailer is described as a white single axel trailer with white fenders and Ontario licence plate number T9535K.
The approximate value of the property stolen is estimated to be $25,000.00.
Crime Stoppers and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry are seeking the public’s assistance for information in regard to the theft of commercial fishing nets.
Allegedly, sometime between the 1st and 20th of September, in the late afternoon, between 4 and 5:30 pm, commercial fish operators have had fishing nets and their content stolen from the Whalesback Channel. This is in the area of the North Channel of Lake Huron. A blue and lighter colored boat with a black motor has been observed in the area at the time of the thefts.
The estimated value of the stolen nets and content is $ 10 000.
Crime Stoppers and the Greater Sudbury Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance for information about any suspicious person or vehicle with regard to a house fire.
On Tuesday, the 18th of August at about 1:45 in the morning, firefighters responded to a home, engulfed in flames on Finni Road in Wahnapitae. Two people were in the home and one of them was transported to hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Police are seeking information in regard to any person or vehicle that might have been in the area at the time.
There was extensive damage to the home.
The Ontario Provincial Police in Espanola and Crime Stoppers are still seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an assault.
At approximately 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday March 6th, 2019 officers from the Espanola Detachment responded to an assault on Old Webbwood Road in the Town of Espanola.
The victim was operating a taxi when the fare he was transporting assaulted him. The suspect who fled the scene, is described as a male, approximately 5’7”, medium build and had his face and head covered at the time of the offence.

It is alleged that sometime between May 1st and May 4th at 7 am, culprits attended the area of Regional Rd 80 and Michelle drive and did cut a fence, to break into a sea can on the property. The culprits stole many manual and power tools. The tools are all etched with an ID number marking them as property of the owner. It is suspected that the culprits attended the property by all terrain vehicle.
The estimated value of the stolen property is $ 12 000.
Crime Stoppers and the Greater Sudbury Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver of a vehicle involved in a road rage incident.
It is alleged that at about 6:36 pm on the 19th of April, a red Ford F150 truck and a black or dark grey Dodge Ram 2500, four door, short box, diesel truck with a truck cap were involved in a road rage incident on the Kingsway in the area between Moonlight Avenue and Mid North Mitsubishi. They would speed up and slam the brakes, swerve into oncoming traffic and try to force the other vehicle off the road. A third truck, a Toyota Tacoma became tangled with these vehicles. As they approached the area of 2100 Kingsway, a collision occurred between the red Ford F150 and the black Ford F 250, causing extensive damage to these vehicles as well as parked vehicles.
Police are looking to identify the driver of the Black Dodge Ram.
Crime Stoppers and the Greater Sudbury Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying culprits with relation to break, enter and theft.
It is alleged that on the morning of the 5th of April, the victim attended the back yard to find someone had entered the garage and 2 sheds. Stolen from the buildings were assorted power tools and Girl Guide’s Camping equipment. The victim’s home is in the area of Bodson Drive in Hanmer.
The victim heard people running into the bush and followed them to an enclosed Side by Side that was driven away.
The estimated value of the stolen property is $ 5 000.
Crime Stoppers and the Manitoulin OPP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the parties responsible for 2 residential fires.
On February 28, 2020 at around 7:37 p.m., officers of the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police and Robinson Township Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Highway 540 in Robinson Township. Upon arrival, the residence was found burned to the ground and the fire to be suspicious.
Later on the same date at 10:35 p.m., the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police with the assistance of the Gore Bay and Billings Township Fire Departments responded to a second structure fire on Nelson Road in Gordon Township. Another residence had been burned to the ground with similar circumstances.
Luckily the residences were unoccupied at the time of the fires. The OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), the Manitoulin OPP Crime Unit and the Ontario Fire Marshall (OFM) are continuing with the investigation.
Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers is convinced someone has information on the identity of these culprits. A Guaranteed Minimum $1,000 reward is being offered for tips received before midnight on Monday, March 9th, 2020, if the information leads to the identity of the culprits (reward $ will be divided if many successful tips are received).

Crime Stoppers and the Greater Sudbury Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a person or persons with relation to theft.
During the late fall months and into February, there have been numerous thefts into Canada Post roadside mail boxes. Incidents occurred throughout the city. Unknown culprits attended the mail boxes during the early morning hours and forced open the mail slots, to take whatever mail was within, including the packages and boxes. The culprits attended some locations numerous times.
Any information leading to the identification of these culprits would be greatly appreciated.
